2015
  • Dialdirect gives its brand positioning a complete overhaul with a promise to offer consumers insurance made easy.
  • Dialdirect’s emotional commercial, The Notebook, was awarded a Bronze Lion in the Film Category at the recent Cannes International Festival of Creativity 2015.
  • Auto & General Insurance was once again voted as Best Insurer in the Commercial Vehicle category at the TruckX Expo, Conference & Awards.
  • Telesure launches a partnership with WesBank, a leader in vehicle and asset finance in Africa. Driva Cover, underwritten by Auto & General, provides customers with an automatically underwritten comprehensive insurance premium when their Wesbank (or associated company) vehicle finance contract is approved. This is a first for the insurance industry.

2014
  • Auto & General is chosen by Carinfo.co.za as the car insurer with the best customer service in 2013, a distinction shared with Momentum.
  • On 1 April 2014, MUA Insurance Acceptances started underwriting on behalf of Auto & General Insurance.
  • Hollard Insurance and Telesure Investment Holdings join forces to pilot a Supplier Development Programme for Motor Body Repairers.
  • Virseker announced its sponsorship of Afrikaans is Groot – one of South Africa’s biggest and most popular celebrations of Afrikaans music.
  • International credit rating agency, Global Credit Ratings (GCR), awarded Auto & General Insurance with a claims paying ability rating of AA-. The rating signifies a very high claims paying ability, with strong protection factors.
  • Auto & General is placed amongst the top 3 short-term insurers (personal lines category) at the 16th annual Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa (FIA) Awards.
  • In the interest of good corporate citizenship and to enhance the safety of the wider Fourways community, Auto & General Insurance donated five vehicles to the Douglasdale SAPS
  • Budget Insurance introduced an optional Cash Back Bonus offering for both new and existing customers.

  • Budget is named as South Africa’s best loved insurance brand in the 2013/2014 ICON Brand Survey.
  • Auto & General launches Stand-alone Business All Risk with Motor Cover.
  • Telesure launches Errors & Omissions Insurance. This solution provides cover of up to R50-million to protect businesses against claims by a client for an alleged mistake or omission that has caused financial loss.
  • Telesure moves to Auto & General Park.

2012
  • Telesure launches the Easyway Centre in Bryanston, Johannesburg. At Easyway, customers are guaranteed an easy assessing and inspection experience.
  • Telesure receives Best Employer Certification from the CRF Institute.
  • Auto & General Brokers launches the industry’s first truly customisable vehicle insurance solution, Saver.

2011
  • 1st for Women and Budget become fully-fledged insurance companies and receive their own insurance licences. This is a great testament to the growth and success of 1st for Women and Budget.
  • Telesure launches Excess Buster, a benefit that allows customers to buy-back their basic vehicle excess
  • Auto & General wins the coveted Isabel Jones Ukusizana Award from the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance
  • Virseker, an insurance product for South Africa’s Afrikaans speaking community is launched

  • Prosper; a product of Unity Insurance is launched
  • hippo.co.za - South Africa’s first insurance internet aggregator site is launched
